Since its beginning in 1976, John and Robert Susen have grown Standard Machine and Raybar into a first class precision machining and thread rolling operation thriving with 70 employees proudly producing more than seven million custom component manufactured parts annually.
History of Standard Machine Co., Inc. and Raybar, Inc.
1976 | Brothers John and Robert Susen purchased Standard Machine Co. in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. |
1978 | Standard Machine moved to a new, 5,000 square foot building in the Saukville business park 25 miles north of Milwaukee. |
1986 | Standard Machine diversified its product offerings by purchasing Raybar, Inc., a thread rolling company. 10,000 square foot addition added to accommodate Raybar. |
1989 | The Susen brothers started a company called CM Industries in Marinette, a northern Wisconsin town bordering Michigan. Al Sievert became a partner with the Susens and managed CM Industries. |
1992 | CM Industries merged with Raybar in the Saukville location and the Marinette operation closed. A 6,000 square foot addition included new office space and an overhead crane to serve a large manufacturer of hydraulic pumps. |
1995 | 10,000 square foot addition in manufacturing space featured 20’ ceilings to allow more cranes to accommodate customer and business needs. |
2002 | Sievert retires and the Susen brothers continue as partners in both Standard Machine and Raybar, which has grown to a 36,000 square foot facility manufacturing more than seven million parts annually. |
2014 | To accomodate our growing business, an addition of 10,000 square foot was added, bringing our facilities close to 50,000 square feet. |
2016 | Raybar aquired Prism Manufactoring, broading our customer base. |
2018 | Standard Machine and Raybar become ISO 9001:2015 certifed. |
